SUMMARY:Reinventing Power Film
DESCRIPTION:Reinventing Power Film\nThursday\, October 3rd from 6-8 pm\nDurango Public Library\n  \nThe 50-minute renewable energy documentary “Reinventing Power” is hitting the road. Durango is stop #3 of the Colorado Reinventing Power Roadshow! You have the opportunity to not only see this feel-good film for free\, but also hear first-hand from local renewable energy leaders on how to support the transition to affordable\, clean energy here in our communities.\nThese screenings are happening in light of an upcoming important decision-making process happening at the Public Utilities Commission. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about how you can make your voice heard (and watch an awesome movie)!\n\n  \nAbout the film:\n\nReinventing Power: America’s Clean Energy Boom takes us across the country to hear directly from the people making our clean energy future achievable. These individuals are working to rebuild what’s broken\, rethink what’s possible\, and revitalize communities.\nTheir stories are proof that America does not need to choose between keeping our lights on and protecting our communities. Over the film’s 50 minutes\, we will meet people in eight states whose lives were changed by the renewable energy industry while exploring various aspects of the clean energy industry\nfrom innovation to installation.

SUMMARY:Energy Transition Act (ETA) Committee Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Energy Transition Act (ETA) Committee Meeting\nTuesday\, October 29th 8 am-4 pm\nSan Juan College Information Technology Center\, Rm. 7123\n4601 College Blvd.\, Farmington NM\, 87402\n  \nWe all know how important the Energy Transition Act (ETA) is for the Four Corners Region. It will provide much-needed funding to aid in the diversification of our economy and retrain and offer financial support to all of those employees directly affected by the closure of San Juan Generating Station. \nThe ETA Advisory Committee\, convened by NM Secretary of Workforce Solutions\, Bill McCamley\, will be meeting for the first time on Tuesday\, October 29 and the meeting is completely open to the public. There will also be 2 hours at the end of the meeting dedicated to public comment/input. \n \nWe need you to show up and let this advisory committee know how important it is for this transition funding to be spent on the sustainable sectors that will be the future for our community and not on more fossil fuel infrastructure of the past! There will be a sign-up sheet for public comment available from 8 a.m. on\, but public comment itself will not begin until 1:20 p.m. Feel free to drop in at any point throughout the meeting to hear some of the ideas going on about what path San Juan County should take next.
