Let’s band together to lower rates for everyone with local\, renewable energy! \nDID YOU KNOW? Renewable energy costs in Colorado are now on par with coal! \nUnfortunately\, La Plata Electric Association (LPEA)\, is in an expensive contract that forces us to buy 95% of our power from a majority coal provider through 2050. \nOur community has the opportunity to look at ways to diversify our power sources\, gain local control\, and lower electricity rates for everyone. But right now\, a majority of our LPEA Board of Directors are unwilling to question the status quo. Fortunately\, as members of LPEA\, we have the opportunity to speak out through our votes each year! \nCome join us as we discuss the importance of this year’s election and how you can get involved.
