SUMMARY:Farmington Methane Regulation Public Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Public Meeting on NM Methane Regulations\nJuly 29th\, 1-5 pm\n San Juan Community College\, IT building -Room 7103\n4601 College Blvd\, Farmington\, NM 87402\n\n  \nMake your voice heard to help enact much needed methane regulation in New Mexico!\nThe New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) and Energy\, Minerals and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD) are beginning stakeholder outreach efforts as they work to develop the state’s first methane reduction regulations per Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s executive order on climate change. We need your help and a strong turnout to show our administration that Four Corners and its residents are invested in our health and demand clean air. \nRSVP and help spread the news on social media. \n \nMethane is a potent greenhouse gas with a 20-year global warming potential of more than 84 times that of carbon dioxide\, according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Nearly one-third of methane emissions in the U.S. come from oil and natural gas production\, transmission and distribution and robust regulation of these industries is long overdue.
